Reporting your availability
My availability at /coach/availability is where you tell the head coach
which upcoming sessions you could take. They use it to staff the season without
chasing everyone by text.
This is different from My shifts, which lists the events you’ve actually been assigned to.
What you’ll see
Every upcoming event on the groups you cover, for roughly the next four months. Each row has two buttons:
- Available — you could take this one if needed
- Can’t — you’re not available
Tap the one that applies. Tap it again to clear the answer.
Leave the rest blank
You don’t have to answer everything. A blank row means “no answer”, which the head coach can tell apart from Can’t. So:
- Mark Available for what you could cover
- Mark Can’t where you know you’re out — that saves them asking
- Leave the rest alone
Filter by group
If you cover more than one group, chips at the top narrow the list. Pick your group, answer those, then move on. The counter shows how many of the visible events you’ve answered.
Once you’re assigned
When the head coach assigns you, the row switches to ✓ Assigned and the buttons go away. That’s deliberate — an assignment is a commitment they’ve planned around, so it isn’t something to quietly undo from here.
If you’re assigned and something comes up, contact them directly. The app won’t notify anyone if you change your mind on this page, which is exactly why it doesn’t let you.
You’ll also get a phone notification when you’re assigned, if you have push enabled. See Enable push.
Nothing on the page?
The list only covers groups you’re assigned to. If it’s empty and you’d expect sessions there, ask an admin to check your groups on the Coaches page — that’s what decides which events reach you.
